Dealer Locator
Dealer Locators" is a new feature that is incorporated in the Quivers Admin Panel whereby merchants will be able to create and manage Dealer Locators. It is a widget that can be embedded into a merchant’s website or show up in an overlay on their website. This will show them the fulfillers for that merchant in a map + list view that the user can browse. It is also an iframe-able component.
To install it, a merchant needs to simply copy/paste an iframe snippet that loads into the installed space.
Dealer Locator Installation
To install the Dealer Locator on your website, kindly follow the below-mentioned steps -
A simple HTML file running via a basic node.js or XAMPP site would work fine. It may even work to just create an HTML file and drag it into your browser.
Use the "Embed Code" from the Dealer Locator that you're viewing the Admin Panel, and try to add the Dealer Locator to your page based on that. It will assume the size of the HTML element it is added to, so you may need a bit of CSS to make it display properly, in a full-size kind of view.
To access it, log in to your panel and click on the 'Dealers Locator' tab on the left-hand side in your Quivers Admin panel.
Let’s have a look at the various functionalities of the Dealer Locator feature –
On each Dealer Locator the merchants create, they can manage which fulfillers on the platform will appear on that dealer locator. This is currently limited to fulfillers that the merchants are connected with and who have enabled Dealer Locator for that merchant.
The merchants can also assign specific labels to show up for their fulfillers by using the ‘Label’ columns. By doing so, they can specifically note the fulfillers that are dealing with a certain product line (for example – Skis vs. Snowboards) or which ones they might prefer. It is up to them to choose whatever labels they want to create.
Merchants can also customize some settings of the Dealer Locator, like custom map settings, the appearance of the Dealer Locator, localization/language, and get the "Embed code," which will allow them to install the Dealer Locator on their website.
They can also Preview the Dealer Locator based on what they have configured.
Using the "Embed Code," they'll be able to install that Dealer Locator on their website, wherever/however they choose (For example; embedded or accessible through an overlay, or however else they want to implement it).
After clicking into a fulfiller, the details of the fulfiller, such as its website, phone number, address, etc., will be displayed if the value has been added in the fulfiller’s business settings.
Changing the map bounds (by moving the map around or zooming in/out) will change the fulfillers listed on the map and update the distance shown for that fulfiller. It will also update the location in the top left.
Fulfillers that have added store hours in their Admin Panel business details should show an additional label, ”Open” or “Closed.” If the fulfiller is ‘Open,’ their map pin would be Green; otherwise, it will be red. They are considered ‘Open’ if their current day + time is within their store hours for the time zone they are located in. For example, if a fulfiller is based in New York, they are in EST, and if their hours of operation for that day is 3-5 PM, and if it is currently 4 PM ET (2 PM MT), they would be labeled as open. After 3 PM MT (5 PM ET), they would be labeled closed.
The Merchants can also filter fulfillers via the ‘Filter Dealers’ functionality. They can filter by “Open Now” (only fulfillers which have store hours added and which are currently open will be displayed) or by specific labels (if the label is unchecked, then fulfillers with that label will not show).
By clicking the blue location pin to the right of the location input, the map will automatically shift to the user’s current location. It may prompt one to give permission. However, if the permission is not granted, it should still refresh, but it might be less accurate.
The revamping of the ‘Fulfillers’ view has helped to split up the fulfillers by ‘All,’ ‘Fulfillment,’ and ‘Dealer Locator. Due to this, a merchant can connect with new fulfillers; however, after filtering down, only those fulfillers a merchant is connected with and who are interested in doing fulfillment or Dealer Locator are visible.
